Why do we measure access to healthcare services? How can this information be used for improving care?

You know, Lily, if you’re going to ask people to do your homework for you, the least you can do is go back and choose the best answers. That way the people who spend time on your homework, who give you the best answer, will get some extra points for that. You have many questions you’ve asked in the recent past that need a Best Answer picked.

Why do YOU think we measure access to health care? If people can’t access health care because of distance, cost, lack of transportation, disability, discrimination, they aren’t going to get the best care or even the basic care they need. Can you understand why that would indicate a need for better access to facilitate improved care? This is by no means a complete answer, but surely you have books and resources available to you so you can look up these answers.

And don’t forget to be polite and choose the Best Answers after people are kind enough to help you out.

I’ve read hundreds of articles as to why individualized healthcare is better than socialized healthcare and its all just so overwhelming. How do you think we should fix the healthcare system?

Canadians are happy with their universal health-care system. Perhaps Americans should copy the Canadian health-care system, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel so to speak.
