What kind of yoga is good for weight loss and toning?

Posted on September 6th, 2010 by admin in weight loss | 2 Comments »

I recently lost a lot of weight. I do an hour of cardio a day and some wights for toning as instructed by a trainer at my gym. I also want to know how many days a week I should go. I am looking for something that will have great results since I am at a plateau for my weight loss.

The best thing I have found for toning is two day per week of Ashtanga Yoga and two days per week of pilates! Ashtanga, however is NOT for beginners, so make sure you take care if you do it. Another avenue for you could be Bikram, or "Hot Yoga". It’s a very active yoga done is a hot room.

I’ve read around the web that the best weight loss solution are capsicum based pills, what can you recomment?

I think Capsiplex is the best diet pill that contains capsicum fruit extract. Capsicum is a kind of plant known as chili pepper which increases the metabolic rate of our body temperature that helps reduce appetite and has the ability to burn fats easily.

What kind of cooking oil best for weight loss?

I’m trying to be on a strict low fat/ low carb/ high protein/ high fiber diet combined with 4 days of cardio and weight training. What kind of cooking oil is best for weight loss? I’m looking to lose over 50 lbs. I’m a 23 year old male.
I forgot to add I’m looking for something that I can use for high temperature cooking

Olive oil is always a wise choice in cooking oil. It contains monounsaturated fat which is actually good for your body. However, sometimes, depending on the dish you are preparing, you won’t want the strong taste that olive oil imparts to food. In those cases, I’d reccomend canola oil. It’s healthier than vegetable oil, cooks just as well, and doesn’t leave any kind of unwanted taste with the food.

What is the best way to avoid saggy skin during a weight loss regiment?

Posted on August 23rd, 2010 by admin in weight loss | 10 Comments »

I’m 29, I’m 5′2”. In the past 2.5 weeks i have lost 11 pounds and now weigh 205. I have already noticed a little skin sag.
I reviewed the other questions on this topic. I want to know if it is necessary to stick to the regiment of 2 pounds max per week for weight loss or it’s alright to lose more if you’re doing higher intensity exercises like swimming, running, bicycling.
I’ve been losing weight so fast b/c i’ve cut down on how much food i’ve been eating, working out multiple times a day and cutting down on sleep ( i was sleeping too much previously).
would collagen in skin spring back faster if i lose weight at the slower rate of 2 lbs per week?
even if i lose weight faster than the 2 lbs, and lose weight at the 1 lb/ day as i am now, will my skin shrink to normal eventually? (i hope to lose at least 70 more lbs) i’m willing to lose weight 2lb/wk. i gained this weight of 65 pounds over the past year. i haven’t had it for very long. is my skin resilient? be honest.

It really doesn’t matter how big you get (as long as you are not grossly overweight). What matters is how healthy your skin is, and the skin type you were born with.

The Vitamins that directly affect skin health are…

Making sure you are taking these daily along with lots of water for hydration is VITAL to help your skin repair itself.

If you can stand to do it, you should replace EVERY FLUID in your diet with water–but make sure you don’t drink too much. You need to keep your skin hydrated, but you can make yourself sick if you drink TOO much.

What generally comes first with cancer – weight loss or fever?

Posted on August 19th, 2010 by admin in weight loss | 1 Comment »

And how bad is loss of appetite? Does it just change or is it totally gone? Is it the appetite that effects weight or is it an increased metabolism, or both? Also, how prevalent is weight loss, loss of appetite, and fever with advanced cancers?

Neither generally comes first. Where did you even get that idea?Cancer doesn’t cause a fever and unless you have a later stage cancer involving the digestive system, you probably won’t have any weight loss. I’ve met many people this past year with cancer and the only one with any weight loss was an old man with stomach cancer that had metastasized to ther organs. He was in a very advanced stage and didn’t live much longer.

What are the risks of taking weight loss pills?

Posted on August 7th, 2010 by admin in weight loss | 8 Comments »

I’ve been trying to lose weight recently. I’ve been really healthy, drinking a lot of water, eating healthy and doing excercise, but my weight never goes down it just stays the same. So i considered weight loss pills. Is it true that after you stop taking them you’ll put on weight like crazy? Are they bad for you? I just want to know if its true that you gain weight when you stop taking them, as i dont want to be taking them for the rest of my life. Any info on this would be great. Thanks!

percent of body fat is more important, not weight. if weight was more important then most bodybuilders would be considered overweight. weight loss pills usually dont work and if they do they arent good for the heart and more than likely you will gain all that weight back when off the pills…

What are good vegetables for weight loss?

I want to make a soup and I need some ideas for healthy, nutrional, antioxidant-rich vegetables to put in it that will aid in weight loss. Recipes are welcome too!

My aunt makes cabbage soup, that’s all she eats all day when she wants to lose weight, and according to her it works. I’m not sure if she adds any other vegetables, I think carrots too.
