I have a 2 months 3 weeks old baby . i allway boil her bottle , nipple , meanly her feed stuff. After every feed coming down to my last bottle i would put it in hot pan and when it start to boil, i wait like 10 min. then i rinse it out and let it air dry. A friend of my told me thats not healthy for the baby if i boil her bottle everyday. So what is the healthy way of clean baby bottle? I don’t have a dishwasher at home

I washed them in hot soapy water and then used a microwave sterilizer. Your friend must not have kids then cause she really doesn’t no what she’s saying. Your doing the right thing so don’t even question yourself.

What my pediatrician told me was that after their 2 months shots you only have to boil the nipples to sterilize them, bottles washed in hot soapy water and rinsed well are perfectly fine. The only reason the nipples need to be sterilized is because of the stuff left in the holes that washing won’t get out. It also helps to keep thrush from happening and if going through an active bout of thrush you should do the bottle rings as well, anything that the baby’s saliva touches. It’s not likely that baby is getting any saliva actually in the bottle.

I own a dishwasher and still don’t run my bottles through it. I find it doesn’t get the big bottles clean all the way and leaves them spotted even with the expensive soap and rinse agent. A bottle brush, hot water and dish soap work just fine. However if a bottle gets forgotten about for more than 48 hours, I will sterilize it just to be on the safe side since the formula has gone really sour.
