I am a few weeks pregnant Im gonna go to my doctor very soon but I want to start buying all this vitamins and minerals just for incase. Ive got calcium and folic acid what do I still need?

Just take your basic prenatal and you are good… but you should know, your baby won’t go without. During pregnancy the baby takes from the mother, not from the food or vitamins eaten/taken. So say you didn’t get enough calcium, your baby will take it from your bones and YOU will be lacking, not the baby.

Pre Natal vits are available over counter. In our area a local grocery chain is giving them free in prenatal program. *mamatx

You need a balanced for pregnancy vitamin. Prenatal vitamins are set up with the dose you need of everything.

Your OB should prescribe a multivitamin which will have everything your growing baby needs! Be really careful about taking any herbs during pregnancy. There’s a lot of controversial information out there. A lot of things you would think might be safe because they are "all natural" can pose serious health risks to your unborn baby. Congrats!
